Protective shields and containers are essential for minimizing exposure to beta radiation in today’s research laboratories. All Beta-Gard™ products are constructed of durable and transparent 1/2" thick acrylic, which has been proven to provide complete shielding from high specific activity B- emitting isotopes, including 32P. (Acrylic shields cannot shield against secondary X-rays or gamma radiation.) Beta-Gard shields and containers are also ideal for protection from biohazardous materials found in clinical research laboratories.
